About Little Heart Homestead

Hi, welcome to our corner!
Our family of 7 lives in a 120-year-old house on less than a quarter of an acre, right in the center of our small town. It took 2 years for the “this is our starter home. We’ll wait for more land” mindset to stop suppressing my dreams of homesteading and microfarming.

In one season, we added 12 chickens, a dog, and 3 stretches of gardens to our property.

Our house is full of kids, and always busy with food prep, projects, and for most of the year, schooling.

I’ve always loved making food from scratch. Food is definitely my love language. I’m not much of a recipe follower, so it has led to dozens of my own personal recipes over the years. You will find a lot of those here.

I have added hundreds of cut flowers, a dozen chickens, and am constantly looking for ways to be more self-sufficient.

We are blessed to have the land (and freedom) we do, so I’m going to make the most of it!

This is our life, full of littles, on a little bit of land, in the heart of our little town.
